Cuban Marriage Records Collection: MAGENHA Project

These marriage records are part of the MAGENHA document collection, compiled through research in museums and parish archives. The collection keeps growing and covers the provinces of Habana, Camagüey, Sancti Spíritus, Artemisa, Mayabeque, Santiago de Cuba, Villa Clara, Pinar del Río, and Matanzas.

Some parishes have lost records to historical events, weather, or insect damage. The MAGENHA team locates copies of destroyed records that were reproduced in other proceedings while the originals still survived.

The Mapa Genealógico de Haplogrupos (MAGENHA) is a genealogy and genetics project launched in 2022. With support from the Cuban Genealogy Club of Miami and the Sociedad Genealógica de Estudios Genealógicos y Heráldicos de Canarias (SEGEHECA), the project obtained permission to research the archives of several dioceses and the National Archive of Cuba.
