Civil Registry Records of Banes (Holguin) 1900-1903

Banes is a small city on the northeastern coast of Cuba, in Holguín Province. It is known for its archaeological sites tied to the Taíno culture, whose ruins offer insight into that indigenous civilization.

William Navarrete compiled this list when he was young, in the city of Banes, and allowed Cuba Research Project to use it. Navarrete is a French novelist, journalist, essayist, poet, and art critic. As of June 30, 2023, he had recently published a book on Cuban genealogy, "Primeras familias, poblado y ciudad de San Isidoro de Holguín: Estudio de genalogía cubana." He also runs a Cuban genealogy blog, "Genealogía Holguín Cuba".

Navarrete cautions that:

"although not all, many people were registered in the Civil Registry years after their birth."
