1957 List of Students, Faculty, and Staff from “Instituto De Segunda Enseñanza de Matanzas” School

The Instituto de Segunda Enseñanza de Matanzas was officially established in 1868 in the province of Matanzas

The students in this list have just graduated from the “Bachillerato” which is roughly equivalent to a highschool diploma. The Institution’s faculty included some prominent professors, such as mathematician Jose J. Davidson San Juan.  The school still stands today, its name changed to “Instituto Preuniversitario José Luis Dubrocq” and shortly after the 1959 revolution, has been administered by the communist regime.

[this is a very abbreviated summary of the institution. A more thorough historical account will be posted later]
